Yemen's Houthis said they shot down a US MQ-9 drone that was conducting hostile acts over the airspace of Marib governorate, the Iran-aligned group's military spokesman Yahya Saree said on Saturday.

The Iran-backed Houthi terror group in Yemen claimed on Sunday to have shot down a US-made MQ-9 drone, according to the Associated Press and ABC News. The MQ-9 drone is reportedly a multi-million dollar surveillance aircraft, with Forbes reporting the value of said drone standing at around $30 million.Houthis offered no evidence to support their claims, according to the reports. The US military also told AP it had “received no reports” of a US drone being downed.

Kentucky police reported an "active shooter situation" near Interstate-75 in London, Kentucky, on Saturday evening where "numerous persons" have been shot.The incident began just before 6 p.m. (1000 GMT) about nine miles outside of London, when officers were called for reports of multiple vehicles being fired at on Interstate 75 in Laurel County, multiple media accounts said. The shots were reportedly coming from a wooded area.“Please avoid I-75 around Ext 49. Until further notice! Use alternative route do not be any where in that area,” London Mayor Randall Weddle said on Facebook.Police officials said the suspect had not been caught.Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear wrote on X: “Kentucky, we are aware of a shooting on I-75 in Laurel County. Please avoid the area. We will provide more details once they are available.”

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken plans to travel to the United Kingdom on Monday, the State Department said, a week after Britain suspended some arms export licenses with Israel over equipment that could be used in the war in Gaza.In the trip slated to go through Tuesday, Blinken will open the US-UK Strategic Dialogue, "reaffirming our special relationship," Matthew Miller, a State Department spokesperson, said on Saturday.

The head of Britain's MI6 foreign spy agency Richard Moore said he believed that Iran was still planning to retaliate for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, which took place in Tehran in late July and which Iran blames on Israel."I suspect they will try and we won't be able to let our guard down for the type of activity that the Iranians might try and prosecute in that direction," Moore said when asked about whether Iran would retaliate at an FT event on Saturday.
