During a security cabinet meeting, Netanyahu was asked what led to the sudden change and Israel’s decision to agree to a ceasefire. “It's a Trump request,” he answered.

The officials recommended that the existing ceasefire between the US and Iran be extended, so as to allow for a more suitable timeframe in which to make the deal. 

“We had to make sure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon. They've totally agreed to that. They've agreed to almost everything,” he claimed, despite no deal being reached during Saturday’s talks.

The official added that the current ceasefire terms are significantly better than those in November 2024, describing the situation as “much improved."

Disputes over Iran, Lebanon, NATO, and diplomatic legitimacy are testing the cohesion of the Western alliance.

Magen David Adom personnel treated five other people at the scene who were suffering from anxiety.

The attempted arson occured on Wednesday when an ignited container was thrown towards the unnamed media organization in Wembley. No damage or injuries were reported.
